The seven principles for good practices in undergraduate education are presented:

1. Encourages Contact Between Students and Faculty
2. Develops Reciprocity and Cooperation Among Students
3. Encourages Active Learning
4. Gives Prompt Feedback
5. Emphasizes Time on Task
6. Communicates High Expectations
7. Respects Diverse Talents and Ways of Learning.

I have always had passion in teaching, which motivated me into the Ph.D program. However, the teaching experiences I had in United States are not always positive ones. It seems that I have adopted most of those principles, but did not really see the pay-back. So I am eager to see how we can buy-in students in the next class.
